My Odalisque series portrays three different facets of the historical notion of an odalisque, a virgin female slave, apprenticed to the concubines and wives in a Turkish harem. Whereas Odalisque I portrays a woman quietly reveling in her beauty, Odalisque III depicts a more playful woman aware of the power of her body.
